This homemade apple butter is easy to make and full of fall flavor. Spread it on toast, waffles, or use it in baking!

- 1 cupapple cider or juice
- 1/2 cupbrown sugar
- 1 teaspoonground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoonground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoonground allspice

In a large pot, combine the chopped apples and apple cider.

Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until the apples are very soft.

Transfer the cooked apples to a blender and blend until smooth.

Return the apple puree to the pot and stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice.

Simmer the apple butter, stirring frequently, for 30 to 45 minutes, until it's thickened to your desired consistency.

Transfer the apple butter to jars or containers and let cool completely before refrigerating.
