A homemade hummus recipe that results in an incredibly creamy and smooth texture.
Ingredients
- 1 (15-ounce) canchickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1/4 cuptahini
- 3 tablespoonsfreshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 clovegarlic, minced
- 2 tablespoonsolive oil, plus more for drizzling
- 1/4 teaspoonground cumin
- 1/4 teaspooncayenne pepper (optional)

In the bowl of a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, cumin, and cayenne (if using). Process until very smooth, 2 to 3 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Taste and adjust seasonings as needed, adding more lemon juice for zing, tahini for nutty flavor, olive oil to thin or salt to taste. If you find the hummus is not quite smooth enough, run the food processor for another minute or two.
